Universities across the globe have increasingly adopted Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems, a software that provides integrated management of processes and transactions in real-time. These systems contain lots information hence require secure authentication. Authentication this case refers to process verifying an entity’s or device’s identity, allow them access specific resources upon request. However, there been security privacy concerns around ERP where only traditional authentication method username password is commonly used. A password-based approach has weaknesses can be easily compromised. Cyber-attacks these become common institutions higher learning cannot underestimated as they evolve with emerging technologies. Some universities worldwide victims cyber-attacks which targeted vulnerabilities resulting damages reputations credibilities. Thus, research aimed at establishing methods used for ERPs Kenyan universities, their vulnerabilities, proposing solution improve on system The study developing validating multi-factor prototype security.
